The Florida State Seminole’s need at offensive tackle is not a secret to anyone that has watched the team in recent years. Coach Mike Norvell and his staff have circled the names of several top 2022 offensive tackle targets to make a priority. One of those is Virginia offensive tackle Gunner Givens. On Sunday night, their decision to prioritize Givens paid its first dividends when Givens listed Florida State in his top-12 schools.

Givens is a 6’6, 275 pound 5-star offensive tackle for the 2022 class. He is currently ranked as the composite number one offensive tackle in the nation and the 21st best player overall.
Tomahawk Nation caught up with Givens in May to discuss his offer from Florida State:
How was the offer presented, and what’d it mean to you?
“I got the offer through a call with Coach Atkins. The offer means a lot—Florida State is a big-time program.”
What did Coach Atkins say?
“[He] said with my rare agility and size, I could definitely make an impact early.”
Florida State has an uphill battle for Givens’ commitment as every top school in the country will be after his signature. But being listed in a top national player’s first cut is never a bad thing.
