FSU baseball Garnet & Gold game thread: Thursday, 3:00 PM

‘Noles scrimmage to be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

Brett Nevitt

Florida State baseball is back! (Somewhat and for one day). The ‘Noles are set to hold their annual Garnet & Gold series today, with one game at 3:00 PM. There will be no umps, but other than that it will be a normal nine-inning game.

The strength of FSU’s team in 2021 will be the pitching staff, as it was last year. You’ll see many of those arms today, as pitchers are set to throw one inning.

Florida State returns their whole starting lineup this year and brought in a hand full of JUCO transfers and freshmen to compete for spots. Reese Albert, who had been rehabbing a pulled groin, and Elijah Cabell, who has not scrimmaged the last few weeks, will likely not play.

Fans are not allowed into today’s game, but the scrimmage will be streamed on ACC Network Extra. Chip Baker and Eric Luallen, the voice of FSU baseball, will be on the call. You can find the link to the game here:

You can also follow along with the game in the comments below, or on my personal twitter @brettpn. I will be there in the stands as media and scouts are allowed in.

We’ll have an episode of Sunday Golds: A Florida State Baseball Podcast coming out this following Monday to recap the game and all of fall ball, so make sure to check out our pilot episode before then.
