No. 17 Florida State baseball vs. Clemson: Preview, how-to-watch, game thread

Bryce Hubbart on the mound for first Friday start.

No. 17 Florida State baseball (26-18, 17-13 ACC) welcomes the Clemson Tigers (23-21, 15-15 ACC) to town for their final home regular season series of the season. This weekend will be the Seminoles’ last three games in Dick Howser this season. The ‘Noles were not selected as one of the twenty predetermined regional sites today. FSU is still competing for a number one seed in the tournament.

The Seminoles uphill climb begins with the Tigers. Clemson has been up-and-down this season and are currently .500 in ACC play. Before back-to-back sweeps of Wake Forest and Louisville, the Tigers had lost seven straight games. After seven straight wins, Clemson was swept at Georgia Tech last week. Clemson has struggled mightily on the road, just 5-12 in road games.

Clemson, like FSU, struggles in one-run games. Florida State is 4-9 in one-run games. The Tigers are 3-9. Both teams are 8-3 on Friday nights. In 2019, the Seminoles swept the Tigers in Dick Howser Stadium. FSU is 79-69-1 all-time against Clemson.

Here are this weekend’s probables:

Friday 5/14, 6:00 PM
