Parker Messick selected to USA Baseball Collegiate National team

List of honors continues to grow for the southpaw after his first full season.

Florida State baseball’s Parker Messick continues to rack up the awards and honors after his first full season in Tallahassee. As a freshman, Messick was a freshman All-American. This year, he was the ACC Player of the Year, the ACC Freshman of the Year, a first-team All-ACC member, a first-team All-ACC Freshman team member, and a second-team freshman All-American. Now, Messick has been named to the USA Collegiate National team for the summer.

Messick finished 2021 with a 3.10 ERA in 90 IP. He was 8-2 and struck out 126 batters. Messick had 11 consecutive starts in the middle of the season with at least 5.0 innings pitched and two or fewer earned runs allowed. The southpaw will be the 27th Seminole to play for team USA.

There are 48 members of the Collegiate national team this season. The Collegiate team will be split into two teams this year, the Stars and Stripes, and will go head-to-head in 11 games beginning on July 2.j
