Final score/result: Florida State topped Mississippi College 94-51 in their first exhibition game of the pre-season. Although the Seminoles saw some struggles on the defensive glass and free throw line they shot the three ball extremely well and had an excellent defensive showing with 9 blocks and 11 steals.
Player of the game: Redshirt-senior Malik Osborne led the Noles with a double-double, finishing the matchup with 16 points and 13 rebounds on 6-9 shooting.
Top newcomer: Houston transfer Caleb Mills got the start at shooting guard and showed intensity from the tip with the first bucket for the Seminoles just 13 seconds into the game. He concluded his debut with 11 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists.
Key stat: The Noles dominated on the defensive end holding MC to 51 points on 29% shooting while forcing 17 turnovers.
Leading scorer: RayQuan Evans led all scorers with 17 points with a 60% field goal percentage, going 3-4 from distance.
Leading rebounder: Osborne led the Seminoles on the glass with 13 rebounds.
