Just a few days after landing their second commitment of the 2022 recruiting class, the Florida State Seminoles men’s basketball program added a third name to the list, and this time it’s a talented power forward from Leonard Hamilton’s home state.
De’Ante Green, a skilled forward from Asheville, North Carolina pledged his intentions to Florida State. Green, who stands at 6’9 215 pounds and visited September 24th, chose FSU over three other finalists: the NC State Wolfpack, Tennessee Volunteers, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons, as well as a host of other offers from schools around the country.

Ranked 128th in the 247 Sports Composite (93 rating), Green has seen his stock steadily rise over the last eight months, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see him end up as a top 75 recruit when the final rankings are released.
Florida State has been on Green for sometime, with the recruitment intensifying after the hire of assistant coach Steve Smith. Like most players who come to Tallahassee, Green has above average length and a versatile skill set that’ll allow him to impact the game as a scorer, ball handler, and around the rim. He’s at his best as a stretch-four, capable of making shots from the perimeter, or even attacking the basket off the dribble.
With Green committed, Florida State now has a strong foundation of what will likely be a large class, and it has the potential to go from good to great if the ‘Noles can reel in one of Dillon Mitchell or Julian Phillips in the coming weeks.
