Alaaeddine Boutayeb commits to Florida State

Classic Ham big man?

Leonard Hamilton’s Florida State Seminoles basketball program stayed active on the recruiting trail with the official announcement of Alaaeddine Boutayeb’s commitment Sunday afternoon:

Boutayeb, who stands 7’2 and weighs 225 pounds, hails from Casablanca, Morocco (he’s most recently been playing in France).

Last month, he took an official visit to Florida State and told Tomahawk Nation he was really impressed with the Tallahassee campus. At the end of the day, he said Coach Hamilton and the Seminole staff are what sealed the deal, as “they know what they’re doing, and they know how to help me improve my game.”

Boutayeb, who described himself as an unselfish player, believes he possesses a good handle and quality court vision. He also can stretch the floor on offense with his shooting. Defensively, he said his height and wingspan disrupt opposing offenses.

The big man becomes the sixth member of #Tribe22, joining four-star guard Chandler Jackson, center Cameron Corhen, three-star forward De’Ante Green, and unranked prospects Jeremiah Bembry and Tom House.
