On Monday afternoon, Florida State took a slight step back in the Associated Press Top 25. The Noles (10-3, 6-2 ACC) fell from No. 16 in last week’s rankings and are now the No. 20 team in the nation.
Last week, Florida State faced rival Miami at home and won decisively 81-59. But FSU dropped their weekend matchup with Georgia Tech 76-65 on the road in Atlanta.
Florida State was ranked No. 21 to start the year and remained in the polls the first 6 weeks, reaching as high as No. 15 at one point. The Noles fell to No. 25 after suffering their second loss of the season at Clemson, and were bounced from the rankings the next week.
After four straight wins (and three by double-digits), they surged from unranked to No. 16 on Jan. 25.
This week, FSU heads back on the road for a late 9:00 p.m. Tuesday tip against Boston College (3-10, 1-6 ACC). Instead of a break this weekend, Florida State will make-up a January postponement on Saturday versus Pittsburgh (8-5, 4-5 ACC) at 2:00 p.m.
