In a somewhat surprising move Florida State’s sophomore center, Balsa Koprivica, has declared for the NBA Draft:
Although he hasn’t specified whether he’s testing the waters or not that message on the surface seems pretty definitive.
Koprivica leaves Florida State after two seasons when he was just starting to catch his stride as a player. He exits after a sophomore season that saw him start 20 of FSU’s 24 games and earn honors such as being a member of the All-ACC Academic Team and the First-Team All-ACC Tournament team.
He has a game that is well-suited for the NBA assuming he catches on with a team. A 7’1 player that can stroke the three, handle the ball, and has a decent inside post game is a very rare player in today’s game and a valuable asset though he’ll have to improve his rebounding to make it at the next level.
Good luck at the next level Balsa you were a pleasure to watch.
