Florida State took to the practice field on Tuesday in anticipation of this week’s matchup against Wake Forest — Jordan Silversmith has more:

The Dunlap practice facility rocked from the pumped-in crowd during the first 11 on 11 period, where the defense shined. They got into the backfield, set hard edges, and played sticky coverage on receivers. The dominance continued when the team went outside as they forced Florida State quarterbacks to constantly pull the ball down during team drills or 7 on 7.

How did the Seminoles’ offensive line perform against Duke? A look at the advanced analytics from the trenches:

According to DraftKings, Florida State is a decent favorite to make the playoffs, sitting at -175 odds behind Georgia (-190) and Michigan (-195).

Florida State forward Onyi Echegini became the first-ever Florida State Seminoles soccer player to earn back-to-back ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors:

This is the fourth time Echegini has won ACC Player of the Week in her career (10/24/23, 10/17/23, 11/1/22, 9/20/22).

Echegini continued to shine last week in wins over No. 18 Pitt and Duke that helped FSU clinch a share of the ACC Regular Season Championship. Against the Panthers, Echegini scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute to give FSU a 3-2 win over Pitt. Echegini followed up that performance with her second brace in the three games as she scored two goals in five minutes in the 53rd minute and the 58th minute to give FSU a 3-0 lead. Echegini is now the ACC’s leading goal-scorer with 11 goals this season and is the first Seminole to record back-to-back double-digit goal-scoring seasons since Deyna Castellanos in 2018-19.

Green Jr. is Florida State’s leading returning scorer as he averaged a career-high 13.4 points per game (second on the team) in his first season as a Seminole. He led the Seminoles with 91 made 3-point shots, a .364 3-point shooting percentage, and was the only FSU player to play in all 32 games in 2023. Green, Jr. enters his senior season with 299 career made 3-point field goals.

Miller, who is in his second season with the Seminoles, is one of the top returning players in the ACC. He averaged 9.4 points and 6.0 rebounds as he helped lead Spain to the U-19 FIBA World Championship this past summer. Miller scored his career-high of 12 points against Clemson (Feb 15, 2023) and led the Seminoles in rebounding four times during his freshman season.

Hamilton is the most successful coach in Florida State history with 604 victories and the fifth winningest coach in ACC history. He enters the 2023-24 season ranked 23rd among active coaches for career victories as he begins his 22nd season as the head coach of the Seminoles.
