The dust is still settling for Tribe24 but Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles have landed another verbal commitment for Tribe25. This time, it’s a five-star interior offensive lineman.
Solomon Thomas is a 6’4”, 315 pound offensive lineman who plays for Raines High School in Jacksonville, FL. He is currently ranked as the 18th best player in the nation by 247Sports Composite, including THE best interior offensive lineman and the third best player in Florida.
Thomas chose the Seminoles over three dozen offers from the likes of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Clemson Tigers, Colorado Buffaloes, Florida Gators, Kentucky Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, Miami Hurricanes, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, Tennessee Volunteers, and Texas A&M Aggies.
247’s Gabe Brooks has a great evaluation:
Burly offensive lineman with physical specs and movement ability to play outside or inside in the long run. Displays encouraging fluidity and consistency in movement patterns. Also flashes sustained punch power in multiple scenarios. Close-quarters suddenness likely derives in part from excellent multi-sport context: Florida 2A state discus champion (168-6) as a sophomore. Owns length to remain outside — potentially at either tackle spot — and relative mobility translates to just about anywhere on the offensive line. Projects as a high-major multi-year starter who could develop into a desired NFL Draft prospect.
