Recruiting

Florida State Seminoles football was the first to offer 2022 running back Makhi Hughes out of Alabama.

2022 FSU commit and five-star defensive back Travis Hunter is Georgia’s 7A player of the week after throwing and catching a touchdown, along with 164 yards from scrimmage and snagging an interception.

(You can read more on high school performances from FSU commits and targets in our weekly high school recap.)

Football

During yesterday’s Zoom availability, we spoke with head coach Mike Norvell, defensive back Asante Samuel Jr. and Jarrian Jones. Amongst other things, Norvell spoke a little bit more about accountability and third down defense, Samuel Jr. talked about playing with pride and the “Florida State way,” and Jones detailed his two plays he made against Miami-Florida Hurricanes.

How is Florida State using Jordan Travis — and what are some other possibilities? Our CoachAB dives in on the latest Whiteboard Wednesday.

Go Bolts, baby.

Basketball

Florida State Seminoles men’s basketball head coach Leonard Hamilton spoke with a few of our SB Nation sites yesterday about two of FSU’s NBA Draft prospects — Patrick Williams and Devin Vassell. Here’s Golden State Warriors site Golden State of Mind on Vassell and Sacramento Kings site Sactown Royalty on Williams.

(If you want to watch breakdowns by Kevin Little (XsandNoles) on each, you can find them here and here. Our basketball podcast featuring Matt Minnick and Michael Rogner that breaks down the pair is also available here.)
