Ian Matthews is a 6’5 275 pound strong-side defensive end from Columbus, GA.
The Class of 2021 prospect attends St. Anne Pacelli High School.
Although Matthews is currently unranked, he has offers from the Arkansas Razorbacks, Duke Blue Devils, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, South Carolina Gamecocks, and Virginia Tech Hokies (all in the last two weeks), so I’d expect him to at least be a high 3-star when the rankings are next updated.
Monday evening, he was offered by the Florida State Seminoles:

When Tomahawk Nation spoke to Matthews, he said the staff planned to keep him at defensive end, but with his size, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him slide inside if he stays on the defensive side of the ball.
FSU already has two defensive ends committed in the form of Joshua Farmer and Byron Turner, Jr. and are thought to lead for blue-chip Orlando prospect Shambre Jackson, as well.
As always, make sure to get more info by checking out Tomahawk Nation’s recruiting thread.
