Blue-chip quarterback Nicco Marchiol commits to Florida State

Come east, young man.

Murphy Jones (Tomahawk Nation)

Four-star quarterback Nicco Marchiol just committed to Florida State over Florida.

Marchiol is a 6’2 216 pound pro-style quarterback from Chandler, AZ.

Earlier this month, the 2022 prospect listed his final four: the Florida State Seminoles, Florida Gators, Arizona State Sun Devils, and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Marchiol attends Hamilton High School and has a 92 rating from the 247 Sports Composite List. The sites consider him the 220th best player in his class (9th best pro-style QB and 2nd best player in Arizona).

He has long been considered a Florida State lean, but recently made numerous public flirtations with the Gators, including visiting Gainesville unofficially:

Marchiol also holds offers from the Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Penn State Nittany Lions, and USC Trojans, among many others.

In the end, the southpaw’s relationship with FSU offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham was the difference:

Marchiol makes the fifth commitment for the Seminoles in the Class of 2022, following all-world cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter, underrated defensive end Nyjalik Kelly, 4-star wide receiver Quincy McAdoo, and legacy defensive end Aaron Hester.
