Kaleb Artis includes Florida State in top 7

Making the cut.

Kaleb Artis is a 6’5 270 pound defensive tackle from Fresh Meadows, NY. Although he’s listed at 6’5, Artis claims to have an 84” (7 foot) wingspan (which is massive for a high school junior).

The Class of 2022 prospect attends St. Francis Preparatory School and has an 89 rating (high 3-star) from the 247 Sports Composite List (Rivals has him as a 4-star). The sites consider him the 413th best player in his class (33rd best DT and 2nd best player in New York).

Early Thursday evening, he released a top 7 list which included the Florida State Seminoles, along with the Auburn Tigers, Indiana Hoosiers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Penn State Nittany Lions, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, and Virginia Cavaliers:

Artis also has offers from the Boston College Eagles, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Pittsburgh Panthers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Syracuse Orange, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, West Virginia Mountaineers, and Wisconsin Badgers, among others.

He was offered by Florida State in late January:

It’s good to see the Seminoles included in his list, but the staff will have to get him on campus to eventually seal the deal.
