Omar Graham Jr. commits to Florida State

A big victory for Coach Marve.

Omar Graham, Jr.

The Florida State Seminoles football program has added another prospect from South Florida to its 2022 recruiting class, and this time it’s linebacker Omar Graham Jr.:

Graham Jr. is a 6’1”, 205 pound linebacker from Stranahan HS in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is ranked by 247 Sports Composite as the 586th best player in the country, including the 60th best linebacker and 81st best player in FL. That said, one look at his offer sheet immediately casts doubt on his ranking. He chose the Seminoles over 41 other offers from the likes of the Arizona State Sun Devils, Arkansas Razorbacks, Auburn Tigers, Cincinnati Bearcats, Florida Gators, Miami (FL) Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Penn State Nittany Lions, South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers, and West Virginia Mountaineers, among others. He also holds offers from Dartmouth, Penn, and Yale, further reinforcing his high character and intelligence.

Graham fits the mold of the new prototypical linebacker who must be able to impact coverage against the passing game, while also being an enforcer against the run game. In addition to his athletic abilities, I feel he has excellent leadership potential inside the LB room and on the defense as a whole. Back in May, I said this about Graham in the LB State of Recruiting breakdown:

Graham’s been a consistent target for assistant coach Chris Marve since being offered in January and completed his official visit to FSU the weekend of June 11, subsequently cancelling his other two scheduled OVs:
