For a program that went 3-6 last year, Florida State football’s recruiting couldn’t be any hotter and the heat wave continues as four-star edge defender Trevion Williams from Crystal Springs HS in Crystal Springs, Mississippi has committed to Florida State. Williams chose FSU over offers from the Auburn Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Ole Miss Rebels, among others.

Williams ranks 224th nationally in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, 31st at his position, and fifth within the state of Mississippi, but TN expects that ranking to change in the future, as Williams is among the fastest-rising prospects in the South. He earned an offer from FSU on June 5th and looked like one of the best defenders on the field at a camp featuring multiple national recruits.

He’s listed as a linebacker, but at 6’4 250 pounds is more than capable of becoming an excellent edge defender at the collegiate level. It’s a good bet that’s where he’ll end up on the field in Tallahassee. Regardless, the goal is to get this talented man on campus, and the first part of that goal is complete. He was recruited primarily by Marcus Woodson and Mike Norvell.

FSU’s 2022 recruiting class now ranks eighth nationally with five blue-chip recruits and 10 verbal commitments just ahead of Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M Aggies, and the Seminoles currently boast the top ACC class.
