Watch, read: FSU Indy camp recap with Tommy and Coach

The Last Croot’sade.

The latest of FSU head coach Mike Norvell’s evaluation camps took place on June 20th and the number of potential Seminoles that participated during coach Norvell’s first camp season was remarkable.

Reaching numbers well over 7000 in attendance, many official and unofficial visitors walked through the Moore Athletic Center during the month of June. Although camps are over (for now), Florida State continues to bring top-rated talent on campus before the recruiting dead period starts on the 28th.

Below is video from the camp and as always, Tomahawk Nation’s CoachAB dropping some insight on coaching and film:

Class of 2023 247Sports Composite 5-star safety Sonny Styles out of Pickerington Central running a pedal and turn drill. Styles is very fluid when he changes direction and keeps his feet under him not wasting any movement. I could see him playing the hybrid safety role covering tight ends and running backs, designed blitzes off the edge and being the last line of defense in the secondary. Styles holds offers from Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Ohio State, Oklahoma Sooners, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and 16 others schools.

CoachAB: You love to see how easy it is for Styles. In and out of breaks and movements he is so fluid. His level hardly changes at all through the drill and he’s always within his framework. A big part of playing DB is not wasting movements and Styles wastes no steps.

Within the talented quarterbacks group that came to camp, class of 2024 247Sports quarterback Dylan Raiola (161) and class of 2023 247Sports quarterback JJ Kohl (159) both received scholarship offers from Florida State.

Class of 2023 247Sports 4-star quarterback Tad Hudson (198) can also be seen throwing below:

CoachAB: I love me some throwing drills. All the QB’s in the clip have good set-up (balls of their feet, ball loaded deep) and show possess quiet feet. One player seems to be working the slant and another working a corner. Players are rotating through different spots for throws in this drill. Timing appears to be good and Dilly is fired up.

Dylan Raiola (161) holds offers from Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Baylor Bears and 4 other schools.

JJ Kohl (159) holds offers from Florida State Seminoles, Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa Sate Cyclones.

Florida State offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kenny Dillingham giving some post-camp instruction to Dylan Raiola.

CoachAB: Coach Atkins is a lot of fun to watch. He is a great teacher of his craft and not just because he understands what he is teaching. Listen to the audio cues he uses to ensure the players are paying attention. He challenges their recall skills on the field also. This man has “it.” Onto the drill, Atkins is trying to get the players to understand good positioning in pass protection.

Defensive line coach Odell Haggins coaches out some form issues.
