Florida State Seminoles offensive line coach Alex Atkins is on a mission to infuse more depth and talent into his unit, as evidenced by the OL commitment list in Tribe ‘22. Now Atkins has added yet another weapon, invading the Lone Star State to land blue-chip prospect Jaylen Early:

Early is a 6’4”, 320 pound offensive lineman from Duncanville High School, where he plays alongside recent Tribe ‘22 pledge TE Jerrale Powers. He’s thought to be pegged as an offensive tackle by this staff and instantly becomes one of the most talented commitments among a very impressive 2022 offensive line class. Seriously- this is a big get!
The 247 Sports Composite List has Early ranked 200th nationally, including the 11th best interior offensive lineman and 36th best player in Texas. He chose Florida State over other finalists Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions, Texas A&M Aggies, and Texas Tech Red Raiders, all of whom received official visits from Early. Early also holds offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Miami (FL) Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Longhorns, and USC Trojans, among many others.
Offered back in April of 2020, Early has long been a top target for FSU and officially visited campus on the highly-productive June 25 weekend, which has now seen an incredible 7 of 9 visitors commit to the ‘Noles. Back in April, we said this about Early in the OL State of Recruiting breakdown:
Atkins has been on an absolute tear on the trail this summer, stating his case as one of the top recruiters among offensive line coaches. With Early now officially on board, the 2022 Florida State recruiting class should move to seventh nationally and pass the Clemson Tigers to reclaim the top spot in the ACC.
