Facing elimination, the No. 10 Florida State Softball team (46-11-1) outlasted No. 5 Oklahoma State (48-12) late last night (this morning?) on a double play and a score of 4-2. First pitch wasn’t until nearly — ridiculously — 1 a.m. and the game didn’t conclude until after 3 a.m.
At 3:18 am ET, Florida State advances to the #WCWS semifinals with yet ANOTHER win in an elimination game and one heck of a performance AGAIN from Kat Sandercock

FSU will now advance to the semifinals of the Women’s College World Series.
But first, we’re too busy marveling at Anna Shelnutt’s moon shot:

How much will such a late night affect them today?
Florida State will meet No. 3 Alabama today at 3:30pm. The Seminoles will have to beat the Crimson Tide twice to advance to the Championship Series while Alabama only has to win once. The game will be broadcast on ESPN. Alabama’s Montana Fouts just threw the 5th perfect game in WCWS history to knock out UCLA.
Should Florida State beat Alabama in game one, they will play Alabama again tonight at 9:30 pm ET, with the winner advancing.
Join us here to cheer on the Seminoles in both games today.
