No. 10 Florida State softball can advance to the Championship series of the College World Series with a win over No.Alabama tonight. The Seminoles forced an if-necessary game with a shutout of the Crimson Tide last night. The win was FSU’s seventh straight in an elimination game in the College World Series. It also snapped Alabama’s 20-game winning streak.

Kathryn Sandercock and Caylan Arnold combined for seven scoreless innings and allowed just two hits. Sandercock retired all seven batters she faced to close the game out. Dani Morgan and Josie Muffley each had two hits. Sydney Sherrill’s bases loaded walk in the fifth inning was the game-winning RBI. For more on the win see below:
We’ll update this article when lineups become available. Sandercock (1.10, 166 IP) and Alabama’s Montana Fouts (1.43, 210.2 IP) are the projected starters. Fouts threw a perfect game in her last appearance at the CWS. In an outing against FSU last season, Fouts allowed 4 hits, 6 BB, a HR, and 2 ER in seven innings.
Alabama will be the home team tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM from OKC. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN. We will have updates in the game thread below.
