It wouldn’t have been a Florida State Seminoles softball game without a little bit of drama.
FSU, fresh off a stretch that saw them play five straight elimination games including one that finished past 3 a.m. ET, took a big lead on the Alabama Crimson tide early, bordering on run-rule territory as it amassed an 8-0 lead.
Sorry —#FSU is scoring runs so quickly that our tweet from 30 seconds is outdated.

Alabama didn’t go quietly into the good night, however, showcasing why the Crimson Tide at one point were riding a 20 game win streak before Sunday’s loss to the Seminoles. Alabama quickly turned an eight-run deficit into a three-run one, prolonging its season with a couple of dingers, the biggest being a two-run shot in the fifth inning.
While the Seminoles failed to score another running after putting up their eight, FSU still held on after that rally, finding its way out of a tight situation in the bottom of the sixth, only allowing one run and standing strong during the Crimson Tide’s final at-bat.
The Seminoles will face off against Oklahoma in the championship series after the Sooners took down upstart James Madison.
We’ll have a full recap from our Prince Akeem Joeffer detailing FSU’s big win.
