A pair of Seminoles have entered the transfer portal

Sayawni Lassiter and Savannah Wilkinson will graduate transfer.

The transfer portal has been getting a workout lately as many players have opted for a fresh start. Florida State has finally seen two players exercise the option to use the portal. Redshirt juniors Sayawni Lassiter and Savannah Wilkinson will finish their careers elsewhere. Both players will graduate from Florida State and begin their graduate studies at another institution.

Lassiter played in 18 of FSU’s 19 games last year averaging 2.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. Lassiter provided much needed depth at the guard position during her time at Florida State. The combo guard had the versatility to fill in at either the point or off guard position.

Wilkinson was hampered by a foot injury for much of last year but the English international still played in 14 games averaging 3.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Florida State will miss Wilkinson’s toughness as she was a glue player who was always willing to do the dirty work necessary to win games.

While there is always a chance that there will be more roster turnover, with the departures of Wilkinson and Lassiter and the arrival of a three player top 15 recruiting class featuring O’Mariah Gordon, Makayla Timpson and Mariana Valenzuela the Seminoles are set to have a roster of 14 players returning for the 2021-22 season.

Thank you to Sayawni and Savannah for a great four years and good luck for the future.
