It’s been a busy last Saturday of 2019 for the Florida State Seminoles football team. Earlier this morning, FSU landed a commitment from running back transfer Jashaun Corbin. The `Noles followed that up with a huge commit from FIU offensive tackle Devontay Taylor.

The offensive tackle made the commitment public via his twitter account:

Taylor started 25 of the last 26 games for FIU. The 6’4 lineman played 33 games total for the Panthers and will look to step in immediately at right tackle for Florida State. He is a January enrollee who will be immediately eligible to play for FSU.

Florida State will continue to look for other offensive linemen transfers on the market. The offensive line has been a position that has consistently ranked in the bottom third of most NCAA rankings for the past two years. Devontay Taylor looks to be the first piece for Coach Norvell and his staff’s solution to the need at tackle.

LOL, there is all kind of awful going on in that gif

But dammit I Rec’d it anyways!

Gifs like that are going to continue to get recced

Until we get a gif of CMN reeling them in.

"Oh My Gootness"....

Noice! What's his eligibility timeline?

He enrolls on Jan 6th. Immediately.

2nd team all conference

1 yr left to play?

Yes, and hopefully thats all we need from him. While he is an instant upgrade, it would be nice to have someone else at RT starting in 2021

Make no mistake though, we need him.

Would think this gives D Washington

another year to sit, get stronger and learn the new system. By 2021 he should be ready to be the RT.

Who do you think gets the nod on the opposite side?

Somebody not in the roster yet

Coach with the voice of truth

Lets hope so

I want to rec this

for being true and I don’t want to for the same reason.

Me too.

Hopefully we can land Storment.

I'm not sure if Washington gets a year to catch his breath. It would be nice, depth will dictate that probably...

…….the new OL coach and S&C team could have different ideas if they deem him ready. I don’t think they’ll push him if they don’t have to. A couple of more grad transfers could get Washington the RS year he might need.

The pace and process this staff wants to develop the young kids will be interesting to observe.

Especially interested to see

what he does with the frosh QBs.

I would like to see

What JB could do with some blocking.

Man, you need to let go of JB

Blocking won’t help his coordination, instincts or decision-making. Even the area he is supposed to be good in, deep throws, is just ok. If we cannot do better than him next year we are in trouble.
