De’Jahn Warren discusses recruitment, Florida State football

De’Jahn “Nugget” Warren is a 6’0 175 pound cornerback from Hyattsville, MD.

The Class of 2021 prospect attends Lackawanna Community College and has a 91 rating (4*) from the 247 Sports Composite List. They consider him the best JUCO prospect (best CB and best player in Maryland).

Warren has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Maryland, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia, among others.

In early May, Florida State offered:

Warren said he was surprised by the offer, as he was waiting a long time to hear back from Florida State.

He got the offer after a discussion with Coach Woodson, during which the latter told Warren he loved his passion for the game.

Before we got too far into the interview we had to know about the nickname Nugget: “when I was a freshman, I was small—I had a small head with a blonde patch in the front, and my JV coach (Coach Stroy) gave me the nickname because my head looked like a chicken nugget.”

We asked him the significance of his Florida State offer tweet (pictures of Deion Sanders and Jalen Ramsey), and he said “FSU has produced some of the best defensive backs in the game.”

When we asked about his style, Warren quickly mentioned his physicality and said he models his game after Ramsey, Jaire Alexander, and Nick Nelson, as they’re smaller cornerbacks who aren’t scared to mix it up:

The biggest things Warren’s looking for in a school are good coaching, and an education to fall back on once football is finished. He added that he plans to take all his visits before making a final decision.

Ramsey? Meaning Jalen ?

A smaller CB.. who isn’t afraid to mix it up ? Lol Jalen is huge for a CB tho lol

Jalen's listed at 6'1.

Show him some tape of Joyner

Come to State!

Feels like if every DB we have offered actually accepted, we'd have 60 DB's.

I am on recruiting overload. Can barely keep up. This is great.

Little Scranton, PA love by the Noles!

I might have to go see him play in the fall if they actually have a season.
