2022 defensive end Nyjalik Kelly commits to Florida State

Florida State got some good news on the recruiting trail Tuesday when 2022 defensive end Nyjalik Kelly announced his commitment to the school.

Kelly, a 6’4 230 pound strong-side defensive end who plays for Dillard High in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is considered a 3-star (86 rating) by 247 Sports. They have him 74th in the state of Florida, and the 31st best strong-side defensive end.

He has offers from Florida, Miami and Kentucky, amongst others.

Kelly spoke with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, detailing his relationship with the coaches and his decision:

“It just feels like home.”

“I FaceTime [FSU defensive line coach John Papuchis and head coach Mike Norvell] every week, sometimes two times a week. They see me as a 3-4 edge rusher, coming off the edge.”

“When I come, we’re winning a national championship,”

“Sometimes you just feel like you’ve just got to do the right thing early. So I’m just doing the right thing early. I was going to wait it out, but it just kept feeling more and more like family.”

“[It] means a lot to me because this is one of my dream schools...they send d-ends to the NFL,” Kelly told Tomahawk Nation after receiving the offer.
